Welcome to the website of  Bujinkan Shugyou Dojo, part of the international Bujinkan Dojo of Soke Masaaki Hatsumi.

Training is open to all suitable candidates willing to uphold the rules of the Bujinkan Dojo, work diligently and enjoy their training to the fullest.

Members of other Bujinkan Dojo are very welcome to attend training, but please send me advance notice beforehand.

Dojo theme of the year 2012:

Kotō Ryū Koppōjutsu (Shoden Gata, Hekitō Gata, Chūden Gata, Okuden Gata)

Workshops 2012

These day long classes are based on extensive notes from instruction in these subjects, as were taught in the Bujinkan Someya Dojo during March 2012. The workshops are designed to impart the technical detail and feeling of the kata and school, and provide a base for the attendee further their own study on these areas in Japan.

May:    Kotō Ryū Koppōjutsu

Shoden Gata 1- 18

Main forms & written henka, and general ‘back from Japan’ material.

June:   Togakure Ryū Ninja Biken

Ken No Kihon: Etiquette, history, wear, drawing, cutting, blocking, care and maintenance, etc.

Togakure Ryū Ninja Biken: Ninjatō details, Taitō Koiguchi Giri, Metsubishi, Katate Nuki, Iai Maai, Kage no Ittō, Ittō Nage, Kamae No Kata & Happo Biken Kata

You will need a bokuto for this workshop, preferably one Togakure Ryu length and/or a standard bokuto with a saya. Metal blades are also acceptable, but must be blunt and safe to train with.

Tameshigiri: Test cutting of rolled Omote Tatami targets.

June 30th, 10am – 6pm, €25 for the day, €5 per prepared tatami omote target.

July:    Kukishin Ryū Sō Jutsu

Kihon: History, etiquette, kamae, moving, thrusting and cutting with the yari.

8 week Beginner’s Course starts June 7th 2012

A beginner’s course will be starting at the Shugyou Dojo on Thursday June 7th 2012. The course, which will run 8 weeks, is designed to give participants an introduction to Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu as it is taught at the Shugyou Dojo.

Topics such as stretching, breathing, striking, rolling, fundamental forms and training theory will be examined, so that participant will, by the end of the course, be able to engage with more advanced material and train safely.

The course cost is €100, which covers the classes for 8 weeks (16 hours of tuition, 7pm – 9pm) and a beginner’s manual. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be assessed for their first rank and membership to the Dojo.
