初見先生 – 鉄盤投

Class began with exercises to develop correct ashi sabaki, before moving onto shurikenjutsu, keri waza and atemi no tanren, focusing on shitanken and sokugyakuken. Following this we moved onto Tenkai, Kohō Kaiten from Omote Gyaku Ken Sabaki and Zenpō Kaiten from Ura Gyaku.

Returning to the Shoden of Kotō Ryū we reviewed the 14th and 15th kata, Kyogi and Kakkō, looking at the particular ways of striking and the correct timing and rhythm of the strikes. After this we reviewed the main form of Kasugai Dome from the Kukishin Ryū Bikenjutsu kata and its Sayugyaku forms, focusing on the correct timing for both Aite and Tori’s attacks.
