The Bujinkan Shugyō Dōjō in Dundrum offers classes in the classical Japanese military and martial arts in Dublin, Ireland. Our goal is to preserve these traditions devised for military and self-defence applications in pre-modern Japan. Keeping true to their roots via correct study and transmission, as well as studying pragmatic application in the present age. The Dōjō is part of the international Bujinkan Dōjō of Sōke Masaaki Hatsumi and the martial art taught is known as Bujinkan Budō Taijutsu.
Our Dōjō is a strictly non-profit club, with a small number of dedicated instructors and students. Members pay a nominal fee each month to cover the cost of renting the hall, while instructors volunteer their time. Small class sizes ensure correct transmission is possible, and our goal is to provide the absolute best quality of instruction possible, with classes structured in a logical and consistent pattern to ensure each student achieves their potential.
We emphasize the correct study of fundamentals, weapons and schools and follow a syllabus designed to ensure a proper grounding so that students can successfully engage with advanced material. Additionally we also have a particular focus on Japanese language, military history and culture.
Membership of the Dojo is open to all suitable candidates willing to uphold the rules of the Bujinkan Dōjō, work diligently and enjoy their training to the fullest. Members of other Bujinkan Dōjō are very welcome to attend training, but please send advance notice with a quick email beforehand.
